Habitat for Humanity® Idaho Falls Area is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat® Idaho Falls Area is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization which does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability or family status.
Habitat for Humanity® works in partnership with people in need to build simple, no-frills, affordable, sustainable, energy efficient housing in modest neighborhoods. The houses then are sold to the Build Partner family at no profit and with no interest charged.
Habitat® offers a hand up, not a handout.
About Us
Since the Idaho Falls Area Habitat for Humanity® affiliate was founded in 1994, 24 homes have been completed. For more information about us click here or click the green About Us button to the left.

Our affiliate builds green, energy efficient homes. The first Energy Star rated home in Idaho was built by the Idaho Falls Area affiliate, which has built six Energy Star homes since 2003.
Volunteers and Donors - All volunteer hours and donations benefit the Idaho Falls area
Volunteers provide most of the house construction labor, run the ReStore® (collecting, taking in, cleaning and selling donated items), serve on the Family Selection and other committees and on the Board of Directors. Individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat® houses.

Partner Families
Partner families invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity® that is used to build more houses. Partner families are selected by the Family Selection Committee through a competitive application process. Habitat® does not consider race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability or family status in the selection process.
