Thank You
201 people volunteered over 3,600 hours of labor to build these homes.

Thrivent Builds With Habitat for Humanity® and the local Lutheran church community sponsored Build 23.

Thrivent Builds, private and corporate donations and grant funding together with labor and material donations from our local and nationwide build partners made it possible to complete our 23rd and 24th homes.

We thank the following local and national build partners for their generous sustaining support of the Idaho Falls Area Habitat for Humanity affiliate program.

SEI Electric, Punt's Plumbing Service, K and K Heating, Holeshot Plumbing, Green Acres Home Improvement, MAK Sheetrock, FoxTree Countertops, Rocky Mountain Cabinets, Buckland Concrete, All Shine Cleaning and Maintenance and Vital Spec all donated contractor labor.  Union Pacific Railroad donated used railroad ties for the landscaping.  Anything Glass of Nampa, Idaho donated the windows through BMC.  Since 1999 Whirlpool has donated a range and Energy Star® refrigerator to every Habitat home.  Valspar is Habitat's National Paint Partner and donated the paint.  Starbucks donated coffee to the Saturday build volunteers.  Lowe's of Idaho Falls donated large evergreen and deciduous trees for the landscaping.  CHC Foundation, Inc. funding offset the cost of adding garages required by the City of Ammon building code.  The Home Depot/Habitat for Humanity Partnership in Sustainable Building grant was used to build these homes to Energy Star and Water Sense standards.  Yale Locks donated all interior and exterior doorknobs.  Schneider Electric donated breaker boxes for both homes.  SHOP 2008 Grant monies were used for infrastructure expenses.  An anonymous donor gave us the use of his tractor for several months to grade land and move materials.  URS Corporation gave a large, unsolicited cash donation.  Women of the local Lutheran church community prepared and delivered delicious donated lunches.  Many private individuals gave cash donations during the build project.

Welcome and thank you for your interest in Habitat® Idaho Falls Area

Habitat for Humanity® Idaho Falls Area is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat® Idaho Falls Area is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization which does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability or family status.

Habitat for Humanity® works in partnership with people in need to build simple, no-frills, affordable, sustainable, energy efficient housing in modest neighborhoods. The houses then are sold to the Build Partner family at no profit and with no interest charged.
Habitat® offers a hand up, not a handout.

Our affiliate builds green, energy efficient homes. The first Energy Star rated home in Idaho was built by the Idaho Falls Area affiliate, which has built six Energy Star homes since 2003.

Volunteers and Donors - All volunteer hours and donations benefit the Idaho Falls area
Volunteers provide most of the house construction labor, run the ReStore® (collecting, taking in, cleaning and selling donated items), serve on the Family Selection and other committees and on the Board of Directors.  Individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat® houses.

If you would like to volunteer, click the green Get Involved button to the left for a downloadable Volunteer Interest form.

For information about donations to the Idaho Falls Area ReStore, click the link or the green ReStore button to the left.

Check or money order donations of any size are always welcome and can be sent here or brought to the ReStore.  For information about the many ways you can make a financial gift to Habitat® Idaho Falls Area, click here or click the yellow Ways to Give button to the left.

Partner Families
Partner families invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity® that is used to build more houses.  Partner families are selected by the Family Selection Committee through a competitive application process.  Habitat® does not consider race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability or family status in the selection process.   For more information about the Build Partner application process click the yellow Application button to the left, or click here.
