100+ affordable homes on 11.5 acres in Idaho Falls...

Phase 1 Coming Soon

Petersen Place is the first affordable housing community of its kind in Idaho!

Affordable housing allows Habitat families to achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Petersen Place Update

Habitat Idaho Falls purchased a 11.5-acre lot south of Idaho Falls next to the New Butte Soccer Complex. With the help and support of Congressman Mike Simpson, we qualified for a $3 million HUD grant to buy the land, prepare it for infrastructure, and renovate the existing buildings on the property into a community center and workshop, with more community amenities to come.

We are currently working to complete the Petersen Place Community Center, which will be the heart of Petersen Place. We will begin building the first phase of homes in 2024. The 100+ homes will consist of tiny, attached, and single-family homes. We expect to complete Petersen Place, A Community of Hope in the next 7-10 years, and know it will be an asset to Idaho Falls families experiencing housing insecurity for decades.

We call upon local businesses, organizations, individuals, groups, and the community to help raise funds for Petersen Place by partnering with us through events, fundraising, sponsorships, and volunteering.

Engrave your support for affordable housing in stone!

Habitat for Humanity Idaho Falls will use these pavers to landscape the area around an antique tractor once owned by Walter Petersen. This display will honor the Petersen family for allowing us to build an affordable housing community for 100+ families on the property that was once their family farm.
