PETERSEN PLACE

Petersen Place is Habitat for Humanity Idaho Falls Area’s first large-scale affordable housing community, planned to provide a range of housing options and community amenities on an 11.5-acre site in Idaho Falls. This development is envisioned as a place where families can build strength, stability, and independence through affordable home ownership.

The project includes multiple phases of development, with a mix of tiny homes, single-family houses, and attached units, as well as shared spaces that will serve residents and the broader neighborhood.

Because Petersen Place is a multi-year project involving infrastructure work, permitting, and fundraising, the timing of above-ground construction is not yet fixed. Habitat continues to work with partners, secure funding, and complete necessary preparations so that building can proceed as soon as conditions allow. Updates on progress and anticipated milestones will be shared as they become available.

Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper and Congressman Mike Simpson celebrated with a Groundbreaking Ceremony at Petersen Place, Habitat Idaho Falls Area's first Community of Hope with a groundbreaking ceremony on March 23, 2022.
